Today's Release - J. K. Rowling's First Book for Adults

J.K. Rowling

J.K. Rowling will be surely a main hero  in the book world during upcoming weeks due to her today's release of first adult book The Casual Vacancy. But how it all happened?

 * J. K. Rowling started early, she was six when she wrote her first story :-)

 * Author's favorite writer is Jane Austen (great choice!)

 * She tends to invents book plots while she moves: Harry Potter idea appeared on a train, The Casual Vacancy sparked on the plane.

 * Before first Harry Potter book was published it had been rejected by 12 publishers. (Ouch! They feel bad now).

 * It took the author 10 years to finish publishing Harry Potter series, the first book Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone was released in 1997 and the seventh one: Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows in 2007.

 * Harry Potter books were translated in 73 languages.

 * The Casual Vacancy is J. K. Rowling’s first book for grown ups with first printing counting 2 million hardcover copies.

 * So far J. K. Rowling has sold 450 million books (!!!). After today’s release the number will surely increase.

 * Publishing success didn't make her lofty.  People who know her describe J.K Rowling as shy and she’s not very social-media person - she tweeted only 15 times in 3 years :-)

* English (The Casual Vacancy) and German (Ein plötzlicher Todesfall) editions of J. K. Rowling's book are already available.
